Cookie Policy
This policy explains how Addex Properties Ltd (“Addex”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on addexproperties.com. Read it together with our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies let a website remember your actions and preferences over time. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage, and in this policy we refer to all of them as “cookies”.
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| First-party cookies | Set by us, for our own website to work and to understand how it is used. |
| Third-party cookies | Set by another company whose service appears on our site, such as an analytics provider. |
| Session cookies | Temporary. Deleted when you close your browser. |
| Persistent cookies | Stay on your device for a set period, or until you delete them. |
| Pixels and tags | Small pieces of code that record activity, often used for analytics or advertising. |
2. How we ask for your consent
Strictly necessary cookies are always on, because the site cannot work without them and the law does not require consent for them. All other cookies — functional, analytics and marketing — are switched off until you choose to accept them. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time.
We do not treat continued browsing as consent, and we do not set non-essential cookies before you have made your choice.
3. The categories of cookies we use
| Category | What it does | Consent needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Makes the site work — security, sessions, load balancing, remembering your cookie choice | No |
| Functional | Remembers preferences and powers optional features | Yes |
| Analytics | Helps us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it | Yes |
| Marketing | Measures and supports our advertising, and may build a profile of your interests | Yes |
4. Strictly necessary cookies
These are essential for the website and the client report portal to work. They cannot be switched off.
| Cookie / technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session / authentication | Keeps you signed in to the client portal and secures your session | Session |
| Security / CSRF token | Protects forms and logins against misuse | Session |
| Cookie consent choice | Remembers the cookie preferences you selected | Up to 12 months |
| Load balancing | Keeps the site stable and responsive | Session |
5. Functional, analytics and marketing cookies
These are only set if you accept the relevant category. Functional cookies remember choices you make and enable extra features. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors find and use the website, used in aggregate. Marketing cookies support our advertising — for example, measuring whether an advert led to an enquiry.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors and keeps analytics session state | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors | 24 hours |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads | Measures advert performance | 3 months |
| _fbp | Meta | Measures adverts and supports retargeting | 3 months |
| bcookie, lidc, UserMatchHistory | Professional-audience advertising measurement | Up to 2 years |
Google provides an opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can manage advertising preferences with each provider, and through your browser and device settings.
6. Embedded content and third-party services
Some pages may include content provided by other companies, such as maps, videos or social media feeds. These providers may set their own cookies when the content loads. We only allow this content to set cookies in line with your choices. When you follow a link to another website, that site has its own cookie and privacy policies, which we do not control.
7. How long cookies stay on your device
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for the period shown above, or until you delete them. The maximum duration for the cookies we use is around two years.
8. How to change or withdraw your consent
- Reopen the cookie preference panel from the footer of this website; or
- Delete cookies in your browser, which will make the banner appear again on your next visit.
Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it, and strictly necessary cookies will remain.
9. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you see what cookies you have, block or delete them, and set preferences for certain sites. Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox each provide cookie controls in their settings menu; on mobile devices these are usually in the browser or device privacy settings. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this website from working.
10. Browser signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. There is no agreed UK standard yet for how websites must respond to these. Where our consent tools recognise such a signal, we will take it into account.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add or remove a tool. The version on this website is always the current one.
12. How to contact us
